Outdoor sources
We’re exposed to chemicals used in pesticides and herbicides when we're outdoors - in our towns, cities, and countryside.
They become airborne and enter groundwater as they’re washed away with rain. You might also come into contact with them in your garden where they are used in domestic lawn and weed treatments.

Health risks in the air we breathe
We ingest pesticides and herbicides in our water and food and inhale them in the air we breathe when we’re outside. Exposure to the world’s most widely used pesticide ingredient, glyphosate, is strongly linked to cancer.
Vehicle exhaust fumes expose us to benzene and butadiene, both biproducts of engine combustion. These chemicals can also be inhaled from cigarette smoke, vehicle tyre dust, and other rubber-based emissions.
Our test can detect recent exposure to outdoor sources of 5 pesticides and 7 types of VOCs related to emissions.
