Ipsos survey reveals health worries about synthetic chemicals

More than half of the UK population are worried about the potential impact of harmful synthetic chemicals on their health in products they use. That’s the finding of a new CHEMTrust Ipsos survey which that found that more than half of all UK adults are worried about the impact of harmful chemicals found in everyday products on their health.
Further, nearly 7 in 10 of UK adults surveyed with children in their household pay attention to the possible health impacts of exposure to chemicals in products used in their daily lives. The Ipsos survey corresponds with our own survey of 56 people, where nearly half of respondents were concerned about the health impacts of exposure to pesticides, along with phthalates and bisphenols.
Why should we be concerned about everyday chemicals?
We are exposed to thousands of chemicals daily, with more than 800 classified as endocrine disruptors (EDCs) by WHO. EDCs interfere with hormone functions and may contribute to higher risk of health issues including cancers, brain disease, and fertility problems.
